Here are various personal and professional development opportunities that I’ve come across over the years. These events have ocurred annually, if not more frequently, over the last few years. So even if an event you’re interested in has passed, consider applying to it in following years.

Harvard Summer Venture in Management Program College Seniors Jun 1, 2021 Jun 14-16, 2021 SVMP is a one-week residential educational program for rising and graduating college seniors designed to increase diversity and opportunity in the MBA education at Harvard.
IDDEAS@MITSLoan College Sophomores-Seniors Jun 17, 2021 Jul 22-23, 2021 IDDEAS (Introduction to Diversity in Doctoral Education and Scholarship) is a two-day immersion program held at MIT. They seek to attract a diverse group of promising undergraduate students and introduce them to business research at the doctoral level.
Cientifico Latino Graduate Student Mentorship Initiative Grad school applications from underrepresented backgrounds Jun-Jul Jul-Dec, 2021 This initiative is to help underrepresented graduate school applicants by pairing them with STEM professionals in their respective STEM disciplines. They provide their participants with graduate school preparation material, one-on-one guidance from a mentor in their STEM field, access to webinars, and mock interviews.

Michigan Ross Upclose and Women's Weekend Those interested in improving representation in business schools, women, and allies Sep 9, 2021 Oct 8-9, 2021 Upclose: This event is open to all prospective students, of any race or ethnicity, who have an interest in improving the visibility of underrepresented students in business schools and in management. Women's weekend: The weekend will consist of programming for prospective women and allies to learn more about the Ross experience from Admissions and experience firsthand the women’s community at Ross by attending a few sessions of The Women in Leadership Conference (WILC).

Twilio SIGNAL 2021 Scholarship Program Anyone from an underrepresented group in tech Sep 14, 2021 Oct 20-21, 2021 Participants in Superclass, a training experience, will enjoy a TwilioQuest themed shared educational experience centering self directed learning and peer mentorship. SIGNAL attendees will have access to more than a hundred sessions from a variety of industry experts.
Data Science For All Program College students, Working professionals Most recent: Sep 30, 2021 4 months Learn data science online in a 4-month bootcamp-like online program. The program accepts students for new cohorts every few months so regularly check the website for updates.
The PhD Project Annual Conference Black, LatinX, or Native American college seniors or graduates Sep 30, 2021 Nov 17-19, 2021 The flagship event for The PhD Project is our annual conference for potential doctoral students. At this 3-day conference, you can network with doctoral students, business school representatives, professors and sponsor organizations, all in one place. [Note: some schools who participate offer PhD application fee waivers to attendees!]
The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management Prospective MBA applicants from underrepresented groups Oct 15, 2021 The year before MBA This is a prestigious program that seeks to get people from underrepresented groups (African American, Hispanic, and Native American) into top MBA programs. Participants can save hundreds on their MBA application fees and some even get full tuition at top MCA schools.
Point72 Future of Finance Diversity Accelerator College sophomores from groups underrepresented in finance Oct 15, 2021 Jan 10-21, 2022 Through this virtual, two-week immersion, college sophomores learn the fundamentals of Point72's business and get a glimpse into the life of a Point72 Academy Analyst. Participants receive first consideration for the 2023 Point72 Academy Summer Internship Program.
Diversity Software Engineering Summit College students in underrepresented groups graduating Dec 2023-Aug 2025 Oct 18, 2021 Jan 3-7, 2022 Hosted virtually by Capital One for students interested in enhancing coding, software engineering, and other technical skills. Students from all identities and backgrounds may apply. They especially encourage candidates who self-identify as Black, Latinx, or other historically underrepresented groups. (Note: I read some Reddit posts saying that participants were invited to a final stage internship interview with Capital One)
Diversity Summit for Developing Leaders College students in underrepresented groups graduating Dec 2023-Aug 2025 Oct 18, 2021 Jan 3-7, 2022 Hosted virtually by Capital One for students interested in enhancing business consulting, strategy, analysis, quantitative/mathematical, and case study problem solving skills. NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program Grad School Applicants Oct 15-22, 2021 5 Years of Grad Study The NSF GRFP recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported STEM disciplines who are pursuing research-based master’s and doctoral degrees at accredited US institutions. The five-year fellowship includes three years of financial support including an annual stipend of $34,000 and a cost of education allowance of $12,000 to the institution.
MLT MBA Prep Prospective MBA applicants from underrepresented groups Sep 30, 2021; Oct 30, 2021; Jan 5, 2022 The year before MBA Applicants must have at least one year of post-undergraduate work experience and be from an underrepresented group to apply. Participants will receive tools and guidance to navigate the MBA application process.
Ford Foundation Fellowship Program PhD Applicants or Current students Dec 16, 2021 3 Years of PhD Predoctoral fellowships will be awarded in a national competition administered by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine on behalf of the Ford Foundation. Awards consist of: An annual stipend of $27,000 for three years, an invitation to attend the Conference of Ford Fellows, and access to Ford Fellow Regional Liaisons network.
UCLA Saturday Business Institute 9-10th grade students December 4 Saturdays The Riordan Programs' Saturday Business Institute at UCLA is a school site-based program modeled after the Riordan Scholars program.
